‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 15 preview: First official details on ‘Girl Meets Farkle’
While we did not have too much in the way of definitive news for “Girl Meets World’s” upcoming September 11 episode last week (there is no new installment tonight), that is certainly changing right now with some of the first official information that we have on “Girl Meets Farkle.”
The first thing that we should really point out here is that the title for this episode has changed; originally, it was referred to as “Girl Meets I Am Farkle,” and we also know even more about the subject matter that the story will tackle. It’s some pretty powerful stuff, and it will revolve around self-worth and making sure that anyone is accepted. Here’s some information from a Disney Channel press release:
“In the story, “Girl Meets Farkle,” Riley, Maya and Lucas emphasize the beauty of being unique as they rally around their friend Farkle Minkus, who may be on the autism spectrum. Meanwhile, his friendship with another student, Smackle, grows fonder.”
This episode is being designed specifically to give both parents and children more information about Asperger’s syndrome, and multiple experts were consulted throughout the development of the episode in order to deliver as authentic a story as possible.
There will obviously be an important message at the end of this episode, but at the same time we do expect that some of the trademark “Girl Meets World” humor is still intact. Not only that, but at least one beloved “Boy Meets World” character who you’ve seen before on the new show will be coming back for another appearance.
