‘The Flash’ season 2: The hype for Jay Garrick is real
When “The Flash” premieres on The CW come Tuesday, October 6, the show is really not going to be wasting too much time bringing forward more speedsters from the classic DC Comics world. The most notable one is Jay Garrick, the original Flash played on this show by none other than Teddy Sears. Given that this is a guy who has already been featured on a period show in “Masters of Sex,” doesn’t it seem like a great fit to have him on here, as well?
Garrick is certainly someone that the show’s producers seem very much thrilled to have around. For more on that, you just have to take a look at what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had to say in a new interview with E! News:
“Having Jay Garrick come onto the show was one of our earliest ideas … It is so exciting, as we rush into season two, that we finally get to bring the Crimson Comet to life. We couldn’t imagine anyone more suited to play the original Flash than Teddy.”
It is still to be seen just how much Garrick factors into the long-term story of the show, but we do know that he is going to be turning up with a warning to Barry Allen that the world as he knows it is not safe. His presence could set into motion a series of other big events over the course of the episodes ahead. Eventually, we do know that Professor Zoom is going to be coming on as the Big Bad…
