‘Jane the Virgin’ season 2 spoilers: Kesha coming aboard for guest spot

Who knew that “Jane the Virgin” would be so adept at getting pop singers to appear on the show? The CW dramedy already confirmed that Britney Spears is going to be making a guest appearance on an upcoming season 2 episode, and you can now also officially add Kesha to the list.

In a new statement from The CW, the “Tik Tok” singer is going to be playing Annabelle, a rock performer who moves in next door to Jane (Gina Rodriguez) in the second episode of the season, which is going to premiere on Monday, October 12. Given that she is in close proximity to the character, we figure that there is some potential for her to turn up again at some point in the future.

Here is what show executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman had to say:

“We are so thrilled Kesha will be appearing on Jane! We are all huge fans of hers, and we are so excited to welcome her to the Jane the Virgin family.”

While “Jane the Virgin” was hardly a huge ratings smash in its first season, one of the things that it does have going for it very much right now is that it is a fan favorite, and people out there do very much want to appear on it. It also certainly helps that it is beloved with critics, and you get to be a part of something that people already love very much. We’ll have more news on it soon enough!
