‘The Librarians,’ ‘Legends’ season 2 to join ‘Major Crimes’ in November
November seems at this point to be more or less the official month for getting new programming over on TNT. It was already reported some time ago that the second part of “Major Crimes” season 4 was going to start on November 2, and we’re now learning for certain that it will be joined by a wide array of other shows.
Given that we just spent much of last night talking about “Falling Skies,” let’s start this article by talking about another show that Noah Wyle is affiliated with in “The Librarians.” Sunday, November 1 is the official premiere date for the series, and it will air rather surprisingly at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. This is an earlier timeslot than we’re accustomed to with most other TNT series, but this show does also cater to a little bit of a different audience than some of the more crime-centric shows.
As for “Legends,” the Sean Bean series (which is going to feature a revamped cast more than a year after season 1) will benefit heavily from a “Major Crimes” lead-in. It will premeire on November 2 at 10:00. This is a pretty smart move from a network point of view; they’re investing a lot in this show, and with a star like Bean, you have to hope that it can draw some good numbers.
TNT also announced that the new series “Agent X” starring Sharon Stone will premiere on November 8 at 9:00 p.m. with a two-hour premiere. Stone plays the first female Vice-President of America who learns that there is a different, secret duty that comes with the job. We’re not tremendously excited about this one, but we’ll see how it fares.
