‘Major Crimes’ season 4 spoilers: ‘The Young and the Restless’ star takes key role

Major CrimesWhile in some ways Rusty managed to piece together some key aspects of the Alice Herrera / Marianna case on “Major Crimes” season 4, it is not over yet when it comes to going through the legal system … and we’ve got some very key evidence of this right now.

As first reported by TVLine, Greg Rikaart of “The Young and the Restless” fame has secured a key part on the TNT drama, playing Bobby G. Monroe, a confident young lawyer who is against the death penalty and will be defending Slider, the man currently accused of murdering “Alice.” This is going to make for an interesting arc, mostly because we are pretty darn confident that we are going to see Sharon and/or Rusty as a major part of this storyline moving forward. Rusty’s involvement in getting justice for Alice was a major storyline and one that we throughout enjoyed.

Rikaart is going to continue his duties on the daytime drama while simultaneously doing this. In other words, he’s going to be really busy! That’s great for him, and it seems like he’ll have good material to work with since this story with Alice/Slider has been a big arc this season.

“Major Crimes” recently wrapped the first part of its fourth season, and we know that the show is set to return with new episodes in November, so we have a bit of a wait. It was recently announced that the show is adding five more episodes, which brings its total to 23, its largest order yet. It’s still not clear if there is going to be a fifth season beyond this, but that is something we’ll probably get a little bit more in the way of information on as we get further into the fall, but with rich storytelling like this, we have a hard time believing that this show won’t get renewed.
