‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9 spoilers: The cast will tackle latest ‘Star Wars’
In some ways, it does feel like it is inevitable for the cast of “The Big Bang Theory” to do at least something on “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” This is the biggest moment in nerd culture coming up the rest of the year, and in between seeing James Earl Jones and also visiting Skywalker Ranch, Sheldon Cooper’s affinity for all things “Star Wars” has shown through time and time again.
Unfortunately, it does not appear as though this is something that the producers have specific plans on just yet, but showrunner Steven Molaro told TVLine that they are already trying to figure the movie’s December launch into the story somehow:
“We’re talking about how that will be weaved into [the guys’] lives … And we have some really cool ideas.”
One of the things that the show probably does have to decipher right now is finding the right spot in the schedule. Ideally, it would seem that you would want an episode about the new “Star Wars” movie to air on December 17, that way you can really capitalize on the rise of publicity and this could serve in the place of a Christmas episode.
However, at the same exact time the series does not always run this deep into December, so they may need to figure something else out to do a “Star Wars” episode either more than a week before the movie opens, or potentially after they come back from holiday hiatus. Maybe Sheldon decides that he wants to see it for the third or fourth time.
