‘The View’ will feature return from Joy Behar, after all
Apparently, “The View” has done some hard campaigning to Joy Behar over the past couple of weeks. Originally, it looked like the former panelist for the show was not interested in returning, and that she had turned down an offer to appear.
Since that time, though, things clearly seemed to have changed. Behar made it clear that she is coming back for the 19th season, which is a big boost to a show that needs some sort of ratings bump after struggling ever since Barbara Walters exited the series as a regular cast member:
“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in. Plus, Steve was getting tired of applauding every time I gave my opinion. But I’m happy to be back home. And I’m looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary and the Donald are in the spotlight.”
Behar, who is very popular with the show’s audience, joins a panel for the upcoming season that includes the returning Whoopi Goldberg and new panelists Candace Cameron Bure, Raven-Symone, and Michelle Collins. Sherri Shepherd is also going to return to “The View,” but as a rotating correspondent that includes Molly Sims, Padma Lakshmi, and many other women.
The new season of “The View” begins next month, and ABC can finally celebrate having a full panel together with some time to actually promote them and prepare for a new season. Here’s to hoping that this one is not anywhere near as much of a mess.
