‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: ‘The Unit’ alum cast as Tokamak
Does “The Flash” now have officially one of its villains-of-the-week for the upcoming second season? That appears likely, based on some of the information that we have right now.
According to a new report coming in now from ComicBook.com, “The Unit” alum Demore Barnes has been cast for at least one episode of the runaway (get it?) CW hit, playing the part of Henry Hewitt, a “charming” scientist who is very accomplished, and may have been involved in the same particle accelerator incident that has really shaken up the entire show at this point. After Caitlin Snow hires him to be a part of STAR Labs, he may take advantage of this moment to fulfill some sort of destiny that he has laid out for himself as a powerful meta-human.
Hewitt’s alter ego in the Firestorm comics is Tokamak, and he is not one of the more well-known villains out there. However, the advantage with this for the show is that this is a chance to reference back to the comics, but also create a character that in many ways is still new. While they have had no problem introducing new characters into the “Arrow” / “The Flash” world, it’s hard to bring in too many brand-new villains other than to have people questioning why they aren’t just using ones that are already out there. Harrison Wells in theory was a new character, but he did still have the connections to Eobard Thawne / the Reverse Flash.
“The Flash” premieres on The CW on Tuesday, October 6. If you missed it, head over to this link to see a first-look photo from the new season!
