ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: ‘The Strain’ alum cast in mystery role

“Scandal” on ABC does have a knack for casting some “mystery roles,” and that is precisely what we have here. At least this time around, some of you may be familiar with the actress playing the part.

According to a new report coming in right now via Deadline, actress Mia Maestro has been booked to play a role that is still being kept under heavy lock and key. This is similar in a way to what they did last year Portia de Rossi, though we do not know at the moment if this role is going to become anything more than just a recurring role. It’s going to be at least a chance to see someone new enter the equation.

Of course, one of our personal preferences would be seeing this character be a new Gladiator, if for no other reason than than the show does need to desperately add some more faces to this field at some point in the future. It’s a group that is still missing a few interesting people to add to its mix, mainly because of just how many people we have seen say farewell to the group over the course of the past year or two. Harrison is dead, Abby is working at the White House, and Huck and Quinn have a lot going on.

The “Scandal” season premiere is going to air starting on Thursday, September 24, and we hope to have some further news before then.
