‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Sons of Anarchy’ actor set to romance Becky

We have some more “Empire” romance rumors, and this time around the spotlight is being cast on none other than Gabourey Sidibe’s character of Becky!

According to a new report coming in right now from Variety, “Sons of Anarchy” alumni Mo McCrae has signed on to appear in three episodes as a guy seriously named J-Poppa, who is an “easygoing” and good-looking suitor for Becky. Judging from the fact that he has only been cast for three episodes this season, that doesn’t particularly have us hopeful for the romance … that is of course unless this is one of those things where they stick together, but they only turn up occasionally.

More than anything right now, we’re just glad that there is some sort of romantic storyling take place for the Becky character, as she is someone who does drift a little bit in the background thanks to some of the stories regarding Lucious, Cookie, Jamal, and the others in the forefront of Empire Entertainment.

Given that we are just hearing about this casting right now, we’ll be shocked if McCrae turns up at some point during the show’s September 23 premiere, but we imagine that there is going to be some more news coming up in the near future. Stay on the lookout for that! Of course, we have some other news related to the show in the near future. This is a series that really does have a habit of casting familiar guest stars in important roles.
