‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: New promo promises surprises!

The new season of “The X Factor” is going to premiere starting on August 29, and to go along with that just-announced official premiere date, we also have a new promo highlighting some of the hijinks ahead. We’re not going to say that this is the most revealing video of all time, but it’s fun! Sometimes, you just have to take fun for what it is and then run with it.

The video makes sure to highlight every new person on the program in some way, from new judges Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora to hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack! For the most part, we’re thrilled about this, but we really hope that we are not going to see backstage cutaways of the hosts while the singers are performing on the show. This is one of our pet peeves from the “Got Talent” franchise and we really don’t understand it altogether much.

Given that this is of course a talent show, we would be remiss if we did not mention that the video also highlights some legitimate talent to go along with all of this! We really don’t get enough time with anyone to detect if they are genuinely good, or just getting lucky with a few notes. That’ll have to wait until the show actually starts.

We do know that ITV does have a lot riding on this series. They use it as a rival to “Strictly Come Dancing,” and the biggest reason for all of the changes is to potentially get some better ratings and attention from the press. We’ll have to see if that move pays off.
