Teen Choice Awards 2015: Lea Michele, Ross Lynch, ‘Empire’ among winners
The 2015 Teen Choice Awards are airing on Fox Sunday night, and for the most part, this awards show is all sorts of ridiculous. It’s two hours long, and full of things that you have probably not heard of if you are over the age of 25. We like to think that we are pretty active on the trends thanks to this job, but even for us we were surprised by a few of the celebrity guests here and there.
Now, we’re putting the focus on the official winners for the night. Take a look below, and we’ll update this list a little more as the night progresses. Of course, also note here that we are focusing more on the TV winners than anyone else over the course of the night.
Comedy TV Actress – Lea Michele, “Glee.” Consider this one last victory lap for an award Lea has won many times already.
Comedy TV Actor – Ross Lynch, “Austin & Ally.” We really cannot say that we’re stunned by this one.
Breakout Show – “Empire.” Well, the Fox comedy was the leading nominee going into the show…
Sci-Fi / Fantasy Actress – Nina Dobrev, “The Vampire Diaries.” A parting gift for Nina for her old show. “The Vampire Diaries” also ended up winning for Sci-Fi show, and Ian Somerhalder and Dobrev won for liplock. Clearly, this show is still very ‘shipper-heavy.
TV Drama – “Pretty Little Liars.” Vanessa Ray also won for Choice Villain, even though “A” was who was listed on the ballot since she was only revealed as the villain in this past episode.
Oh, and there were many awards that were given out … but not on the show. This is the insurance policy for people who don’t turn up.
