‘Supernatural’ season 11: Jensen Ackles makes impala discovery on show’s set

There have been a few things that have remained iconic about “Supernatural” more or less ever since the beginning of the show. You have the relationship between the brothers Sam and Dean, the presence of bizarre creatures, and then also the famed Impala. This car is in some ways a character of its own on the show, and it is also probably the best easy advertising ever for the car.

Who knew, though, the a version of the card from the very first season still existed? This was a pretty cool discovery made this week by star Jensen Ackles, as he describes in a new post on Facebook (take a look over here). He found the car while filming this week, and it is the original Impala that was “destroyed” on the show. Of course, being destroyed on TV and destroyed in real life are two very different things, so this var does very much still exist!

Is this going to be relevant at all to the new season? Probably not, but this is a nice little bit of nostalgia, and it also reminds us very well of just how much Jensen still has fond memories of the early days of the show, before anyone knew for sure that this was going to become a huge hit.

The eleventh season of “Supernatural” will premiere on The CW come Wednesday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
