‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 7 spoilers: More news on Deeks’ mother!

For those of you who have been hoping to understand more of the man that is Marty Deeks on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” you may have heard the news at this point that we are going to be meeting his mother at some point during the seventh season! Excellent news, no? This marks a really great opportunity to know more of where he comes from, how he was raised, and also should help Kensi feel even closer to him in their relationship. In a way, this pairing is probably one of the reasons why we are finally meeting her in the first place.

We don’t think we have to do that much of a job explaining what this storyline is to you right now, mostly because Eric Christian Olsen does a very great job of doing that himself in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“It’s a really interesting reflection on why Deeks chose to work for Hetty and why he fell in love with Kensi … His mom represents a really strong female role model in his life. His mom has a blue collar job and worked her ass off to give her son the opportunities that she obviously didn’t have. He loves her. He knows what strength is because of her. That dynamic is going to be explored through her and now we see why he fell for the people he did in his life.”

Could this meeting bring Kensi and Deeks closer to an engagement? We know that we want to see an “NCIS: Los Angeles” wedding before the series ends, but we feel like one of the primary motivating factors in that happening is going to be how many more seasons the show feels like it has left. If there’s ever a concern that the end is near, we could see this coming up sooner rather than later.
