‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 13 preview: Sheppard and ‘Girl Meets Semi-Formal’

Let’s talk for a minute about things that are completely random. Why in the world is there an appearance from Sheppard on Friday night’s “Girl Meets World” episode? We are at least reasonably familiar with their song “Geronimo,” but we don’t quite understand if there is any real connection at all here between this song and the show … other than that we are having a semi-formal dance, and apparently the producers wanted some sort of live band to be present there.

As for how a New York public school managed to somehow convince a popular Australian band to stop by for a performance, your guess is as good as ours.

We wonder for the most part here if this is just the sort of promo designed to appeal to the young, hip viewers of the Disney Channel more so than diehard “Boy Meets World” fans, since maybe the network just assumes that these people are going to watch anyway, and they would rather appeal to a new crowd. This video just gives away so little about the story that it’s a little sad, other than that apparently at one point Riley has to decide whether or not she wants to choose Lucas for a dance.

Since there is at the moment such a heavy air of mystery here, let’s go ahead and tell you diehards that if nothing else, you can expect a good Eric Matthews story on the show at some point. We’ve enjoyed these so far, mostly because they’ve brought us those great emotional connections to the past.
