‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: ‘The Wire’ alum to play with fire
According to a new report coming in right now via Deadline, “The Wire” alumni Leo Fitzpatrick is going to appearing on at least one season 2 episode as Joe Pike, a leader of a “notorious” group of arsonists known as the Pike Brothers. Unless there is some clever name-disguising going on here, he is not someone from the comics. (Ironically, there is a Joseph Pike in the Marvel universe.) We imagine the Pike Brothers for now as the sort of standalone villain who Jim Gordon and the GCPD can track down and take out within an episode or two, but who knows it that will truly happen?
Pike joins a roster of confirmed villains for this season that include fellow newcomer Theo Galvan, Tigress, Jerome, the Penguin, and many villains-in-training that may include Selina Kyle and Edward Nygma. We imagine that there is a chance that Ivy could turn up at some point on the new season, as well. This season has been dubbed the year of the villains, so we can only assume that more are going to be confirmed as time goes on.
Season 2 of “Gotham” premieres on Fox come Monday, September 21 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. Given the timing of Fitzpatrick’s casting, it is fair to say that he will more than likely be in one of the earlier episodes this season.
