‘Doctor Who’ season 9 trailer: See Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and plenty of action

The new season of “Doctor Who” is coming your way on September 19, and just in case you were not thrilled about this already, we feel like the promo below gives you another reason to smile. It’s fast-paced, action-packed, and above all really fun. We do like the episodes of the show that are a little more of the dark-and-serious variety, but there is something that is just so fun and nostalgic about seeing some of these old-school space romps that we love to see.

If you are a longtime fan of the show, then you should rejoice over all of the Daleks in this promo to go along with all of the other space creatures that turn up. There are also a few newcomers both in terms of monsters and people. While it may just be for a second or two, you can catch a quick glimpse of Maisie Williams of “Game of Thrones” fame, who is going to have an important guest-starring role.

Of course, for fans of The Master, there is also a brief little tease that thrusts into the spotlight none other than Missy (Michelle Gomez).

While in general the majority of the upcoming season is under wraps, we get the sense that with a year under their belt together, Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are poised to have so much more fun than ever before. There will be humor, drama, and probably a few more surprises along the way. We imagine that things will become much more in-depth as we come close to the episodes actually airing.
