‘The Good Wife’ season 7 spoilers: Peter Gallagher in as latest guest star

The Good Wife -The cast of “The Good Wife” can never be impressive enough. This is at least our takeaway after getting the latest bit of casting news on the Julianna Margulies series.

According to a new report coming in right now via Deadline, former “Covert Affairs” star Peter Gallagher is going to be a recurring guest star on the upcoming seventh season in the role of Irving Carter, a man described as being a smart, “witty” attorney with connections to Oliver Platt’s character of Reese Dipple. When season 7 begins, he could find himself getting worked into the world of Lockhard Agos Lee. Remember the days when it was Lockhart Gardner at the center of the show? Those feel now ultimately like they were so long ago.

Gallagher is coming off of another memorable guest-starring turn on “Law & Order: SVU,” and we certainly understand why he or really anyone else would want to guest-star here. As we have said many times over, this show does have some of the best roles for recurring actors in the business. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Cush Jumbo are two of the more noteworthy guests making their first appearances on season 7, and we know very well already at this point that some other past guests like Michael J. Fox and others are going to be back in some capacity, as well.

Is there any proof that this is the final season of “The Good Wife” coming up? Not really, but we imagine that there is going to be some more news on way or another when it comes to this subject in the relatively near future.
