‘Ray Donovan’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Is there trouble ahead for Finney, Paige?

Throughout the third season of “Ray Donovan” so far, one of the largest themes has been Ray’s operations with Finney and Paige. It’s an interesting new dynamic for the show, and we also feel like the show is really enjoying having Katie Holmes around as a recurring guest star.

“Handshake Deal” is the title for the new episode airing next week, and you cannot be that shocked to learn that Showtime is not really keen on releasing much information in advance. This is just something that has very much become their M.O. over the last little while. After all, this is the only thing that they are giving us when it comes to a synopsis: “Ray’s new mission drives a wedge between Finney and Paige.”

The one thing that we do know we want to see from this story is for Finney and Paige to stick around a little while. We have become invested in what is going on here, so cutting out Finney and Paige at this point without some sort of fitting end would be rash.

We are getting near the halfway point of the season, and with that you have to expect tensions to rise one way or another. The promo below makes it pretty darn clear just where some of the tension is going to lie between Paige and Finney, and it certainly looks like there’ll be plenty of violence, as well. Just another day in Ray’s office, right? That’s the easy way to look at it.
