ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5: Tony Goldwyn returning again to director’s chair
Before we do anything else, we should add a small caveat to the Twitter post below from “Scandal” star Tony Goldwyn: The Instagram takeover that is mentioned there has already happened. We figure the more valuable news now is that it seems as though Tony is stepping back into the director’s chair this season, and much earlier than he is typically accustomed to doing so.
It looks as though like Goldwyn will be directing the second episode of this season, unless of course this is some sort of situation where the show is filming out of order. That does tend to happen sometimes with series like “Supernatural,” especially early on in the season.
This is far from the first time that Tony has taken on this role for the show, having previously directed three episodes previously. Typically it is easier for an actor to direct if they have a little less material in a given episode. We definitely cannot confirm yet whether or not this will be the case here, but for now it seems as though that is the easiest assumption to make since there is only so much a guy can do.
What we can at least project for season 5 is that there will almost surely be more of Olivia and Fitz together than anything that we have seen on the series so far. After all, these two characters have spent the vast majority of their time this series gravitating towards each other, but then back away. They finally seem to be together now, and this could be their chance.
