‘The Fosters’ season 3, episode 7 review: Callie and AJ’s ‘arrest’; Lena and Stef’s struggle

The Fosters -Tonight’s episode of “The Fosters” was emotional and then some by the end, mostly because it tackled an issue in postpartum depression that few other shows tackle. Not only that, but this is on a network that is known more for having an audience of teenagers and young adults.

Somehow, even this still was not the only surprise that took place during this episode, as during the very end, we learned that Stef’s history with Brandon (despite a certain restraining order being expunged) is enough to temporarily take away the adoption and remove Callie from her care. Right when things were starting to smooth over for her, another problem came up. This comes after an eventful series of events that also included Callie and AJ getting arrested, which happened after she bought a car without really getting it checked out properly.

She reassured AJ over the course of the episode that everything would be okay between the two of them, and also that her history with Brandon is not going to impact them at all. This was a really good episode for these two just in terms of character development.

Do we wish still that there was some other great stuff happening in this episode when it comes to Mariana and Brandon? Sure, but we found some of their stuff lacking. This was a very unbalanced hour of TV, but at least we did get some significant character development. Overall, a solid episode of TV. Grade: B.
