ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Molly Quinn’s epic premiere tease

Alexis -As you may know at this point, the eighth season of “Castle” has already started to film! If that in itself did not get you excited, then maybe this brand-new and rather epic tease from series star Molly Quinn will. You can see her tweet below, specifically mentioning that new co-showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter have “put the show on steroids.” Add to that another message from Susan Sullivan, and you have two people who are really excited to deliver to you something great when the show premieres later this fall.

It is cool to us to hear these messages in particular from Quinn and Sullivan, since we are always curious to see how the two are going to be integrated in the story. They are big parts of Castle and now Beckett’s lives, and the cliffhanger at the end of season 7 presented the possibility of great change for the two of them. Stana Katic’s character could end up either getting into politics and getting a promotion at the NYPD, and either way, it impacts the show in a really dramatic way and introduces a variety of new dynamics into things. At the moment, though, there is no word on just what direction the show is going.

These comments do echo what we’ve heard already from both Katic and Nathan Fillion, who have both expressed excitement for some of the stories coming up, despite some fans worrying about there being a substantial amount of change to a story that they have loved for years.

We do know the premiere episode is entitled “XY,” which is of course interesting and makes us think immediately of chromosomes.
