‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ video: Lady Gaga appearance hyped in first promo

Who knew that FX was going to use the season 2 premiere of “The Strain” as such a platform to launch some of their new shows? It may be a little bit of a surprise to some of you, but that is precisely what is happening here.

Last night, we first posted the first video teaser for the upcoming series “The Bastard Executioner,” and we come today bearing the gift of the first teaser for “American Horror Story: Hotel.” There is not exactly much that is particularly creepy about this one, other than some very interesting fashion and a specific marketing perspective. FX really wants you to know that Lady Gaga is going to be one of the stars of this season! This is the first time that we can remember a specific cast member being featured in one of these.

Now, you do have to wonder whether or not marketing towards Gaga fans will make that great of a difference. We feel like it could marginally, but the majority of the people who watch this show already are going to continue to do so regardless of who is in it. Therefore, we’d like to see the series eventually evolve in some of its promos to being more about the general creepiness and the scare factor of the season than just some of its stars. We already know that it has an impressive cast. Just look at Matt Bomer, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, or many others.

For now, the only confirmed premiere date is “October,” but of course we know the series will air at some point before Halloween.
