‘The Good Wife’ season 7: Margo Martindale to guest star!
Given that “The Good Wife” has shown routinely an ability for being able to book almost any guest star they want (at least within reason), can you really be that surprised that they landed Margo Martindale? Here is the short answer: You really shouldn’t be.
CBS has announced that the former “Justified” and “The Millers” star will play an integral role on the series as Willa Eastman, a woman who is going to face off in a big way against Eli (Alan Cumming) on some upcoming episodes. She’s smart, cunning, and very good at manipulation. she tricks people by having them believe that she is just this sweet woman who isn’t out to hurt anyone, and then is able to snatch victory from them.
In a statement, executive producers Robert and Michelle King had the following to say:
“Every year we look for a character and an actor who can go toe-to-toe with Eli Gold and make him blink … So we were thrilled when Margo Martindale agreed to play Willa Eastman. Her ability to mix comedy and drama is unparalleled. And we can’t wait to see how Margo and Alan deal with each other.”
This new season will premiere on CBS in early October. While we are going to miss Archie Panjabi, we have to give the series a ton of credit for being able to load up on some new cast members and keeping the excitement level high.
This news comes after we’ve learned about a variety of other news about the show lately. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is coming on for a particularly meaty role, and to go along with that there is also chatter that we will see less of Alicia’s daughter in season 7. Read more here.
