‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 spoilers: Series boss on ‘multiple threats’ coming
The new season of “The Walking Dead” is not coming on TV until October, but given that this is the week of San Diego Comic-Con, you better believe that almost anyone and everyone will be coming out of the woodwork at one point or another with news.
So let’s start off here with this from showrunner Scott M. Gimple? We assumed that the Wolves were not going to be the only major threat that Rick Grimes and company faced off against at some point during the sixth season, but who would’ve assumed that there would be so many different adversaries so early on? As he tells Entertainment Weekly, there are going to be a wide variety of different opponents who turn up in Alexandria and its surrounding area, and could in turn cause major problems:
“There are multiple threats, even in the first half of the season. And sort of different versions of threats we’ve seen before. The first three episodes are quite intense, and the cast and crew are — we just shot them out of a cannon directly into another cannon that we shot them out of again. The first three episodes are — we say every year, “Ah, it’s so crazy” and everything, and it has been crazy — but the first three episodes this year and the things that we’re doing are very big and very difficult, and we’re pushing people hard, and in some ways I think we’re going to be pushing the audience hard. I’m pretty excited and terrified about it.”
This may not be the clearest teaser from Gimple, but we read the whole interview and it may still somehow be the most easy-to-understand thing that he says in it from start to finish. This is a guy who is being incredibly vague on the new season, to the point where he wonder if there is something super-secret the show is trying to hide.
