‘Big Brother 17’ review: Johnny Mac and a giraffe; plus, Austin’s move
Tonight’s “Big Brother 17” proved itself to be a mildly entertaining affair, but if there was one way in which we would describe the past two episodes, it is the official celebration of Johnny Mac as entertainment dynamite. His giraffe-snatching performance, plus Diary Room confessions, proved to be our favorite moments of the episode. This is not to mention the hilarious segment in which we saw the Rock Star Dentist mock Shelli and Clay for suggesting that he stay on the block. Does the name Marcellas ring any bells to these people? Not gonna happen.
John won the Power of Veto in a memory competition, and in turn this provided Da’Vonne an opportunity to fight for a way to stay in the game … provided Audrey got on the block. While Audrey did not help herself exactly during an argument with Clay, that still didn’t happen. Meg is the replacement nominee rather than Liz, who was also considered.
While Johnny Mac was the entertainment MVP, Austin is the game MVP for suggesting to Clay and Shelli that the other side of the house could unite against Liz and keep Day. Sure, he embellished some parts of what was going on, but he may have been right in the end. There’s no motivation for most of the house to keep someone in Liz who is a free agent, especially if they figure the Twin Twist out.
Also tonight…
1. The show’s really trying to milk Clay and Shelli as a showmance, even though they’re not getting physical.
2. Audrey’s kissy-face DR may be her best DR of the season.
3. For those wondering, the Last Laugh twist will be on tomorrow’s show. Grade: B+.
