Stephen Colbert to appear with Jerry Seinfeld on ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’ finale

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee -Jerry Seinfeld continues to find a way to get some of the biggest names out there to drive around with him in expensive cars, while also drinking fine coffee and sometimes eating a nice breakfast. “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” (watch here) is ending on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern time (at least for the season), and the last guest is someone in Stephen Colbert who certainly is a subject of public intrigue. He has a new show starting on CBS this fall, and to go along with that you have to remember that this is a guy who is mostly known for being a character that is not entirely him.

Therefore, this should be a fun episode to watch to learn some more about the real Stephen, and how he interacts with someone like Seinfeld who is by almost any definition a comedic genius. (He’s also somewhere dancing up and down and throwing money in the air after that Hulu deal for “Seinfeld” repeats.)

It is also fairly easy to map out some of the timeline as to when this interview took place. Stephen was in the process of growing out this enormous beard during the first part of the year, but he shaved it before the CBS upfronts in May and has been clean-shaven roughly ever since. Therefore, this took place at some point during his break between the end of “The Colbert Report” and him starting to prepare for his new series.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” starts on September 8 on CBS. If you missed, it head over here to watch Seinfeld with another person who has some “Daily Show” connections in future host Trevor Noah.
