‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: One recurring favorite’s return confirmed

“Once Upon a Time” has a pretty enormous cast, and when it comes to that it is pretty easy to figure out that there are going to be some people who end up being left in the dust. Sometimes, it is scheduling reasons that lead to that, as many former actors on this show now have other gigs elsewhere. However, on other occasions it is more due to the story just moving into other directions, and with so many different focuses, occasionally some things are going to get left in the dust.

Based on the Twitter post below from co-creator Adam Horowitz, at least you can rest assured that Leroy a.k.a. Grumpy will return! We are not exactly going to say that this is a surprise (he’s always been a pretty prominent character on the show), but sometimes it is nice to get that extra support.

Leroy has consistently been the only one of Snow White’s seven dwarves to receive a significant amount of airtime, and we wish that at some point Amy Acker (who has been busy on “Person of Interest”) would get a chance to return as Nova / Astrid, the character’s love interest. She is one of those people who have disappeared sort of along the lines of Red and Mulan. Hopefully, sooner or later the show is going to have a chance to resolve many of these loose ends.

The season 5 premiere of “Once Upon a Time” will air September 27, and based on what we know so far, Camelot is going to have a pretty big role to play.
