‘The Amazing Race Canada 3’ video: Another tease before July 8 premiere
Are you ready to embark on another “Amazing Race,” Canadian style? We’ve long been supporters of “The Amazing Race Canada,” and we don’t think that this is just some carbon-copy version of the American show at all. We’ve found some of the challenges more interesting here, and we also feel like Canada as a whole gets a little more involved. Sure, this show explores more of its actual country than its U.S. counterpart, but it is the little things that make it fun.
For example, the promo below seems to give you a glimpse that teams are going to at least briefly visit TSN, the country’s version of sports network ESPN. Could you imagine something like that happening in America? It’s a little more of a stretch. We also imagine that teams will visit a few other iconic places this year as they attempt to prove that they can handle anything the show throws at the them.
If there is one thing that we would hope to see from this show at some point, it’s a little more deviation from the U.S. version. We’ve never really loved the Express Pass that much as a twist, mostly because we don’t really like things that can separate a strong team further from the pack. Typically, good racers will find themselves in spots where they don’t need to use it. Instead, we’d love to see the Salvage Pass from the Australian version implemented, where a winning team can elect to save a team in last place or send them home. There’s a little bit of strategy in here, since you could be giving a weak team another chance, and if they are lucky they could end up eliminating a better team the next leg.
Regardless of what happens, we’ll have coverage of the July 8 premiere on CTV soon.
