‘Falling Skies’ season 5, episode 2 preview: ‘Hunger Pains’

Tonight, “Falling Skies” kicked off its final season with a story that brought us so much further into the world of these characters, and hopefully set the stage for what will be an excellent nine episodes ahead. At the same time, we were left with many reminders about just how much of an uphill battle the 2nd Mass currently face. The aliens have all of the resources, the knowledge, and the leverage. All the humans really have at the moment is a little bit of spunk, and hope for a better future.

Next week, there is one thing that they are certainly not going to have: Food. They also are not going to have the knowledge until the last minute that the Epheni are creating some new species, and this could complicate matters even further than they were already. This installment is entitled “Hunger Pains,” and you can get some further news on what to expect via the TV Guide synopsis below:

“An unexpected skitter attack leaves the 2nd Mass without food, triggering a desperate mission to find supplies. Meanwhile, Maggie makes false promises to protect the 2nd Mass, and it’s discovered the Espheni have created hybrid being that’s part Espheni, part skitter, part hornet and part human.”

Will there be some answers by the end of this episode? Maybe, but when the dust settles we need to have a better understanding of all that transpires. This could be a foundation point.
