Will ‘Big Brother 17’ face delay thanks to CBS golf coverage tonight?

We thought we would go ahead and write up an article on this, mostly because at this point it seems largely inevitable: There is going to be some sort of delay for “Big Brother 17” viewers on the East Coast due to golf. How much so? That is what we are still trying to figure out. The network is generally pretty good about giving out some sort of estimated time, but given that the event is still going as of this writing, there is not a way to give one yet.

This is probably especially a bummer for people hoping to watch the episode, only to then transition over to “True Detective” or something else. Alas, this is just a symptom of summer TV, mostly in the way that fall TV has to deal with NFL programming the majority of the time. Tonight’s new episode will feature the first Battle of the Block competition, in addition to the first set of nominations.

In some ways, this is one of the most entertaining shows of the season since we really do not know much about what happened before the live feeds went online. This show will cover most of this ground, while Wednesday’s will give us a better sense of how the show wants to edit the feeds this season. Based on what we are seeing, they are going to be rather busy!

Update: Right now, it’s looking like there could be a delay of 5-10 minutes in some markets.
