‘Masters of Sex’ season 3 video: First look at Josh Charles!

The third season of “Masters of Sex” will be coming your way on Showtime on Sunday, July 12, but there is no need to wait that long at all to get a first look at what you can expect. That is what the sneak peek below is for!

While we know that this is for the most part a serious drama, this new trailer really does do a good job of playing up some of the lighter, more comedic moments. There are going to be many that do come out of where Bill Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) are in their lives at the moment. The two of them are becoming bigger celebrities thanks to their sex study, but with attention of course comes opposition. They will have to face off against many who disagree vehemently about some of what they are doing in regards to their research. These are people who may claim that they are either unethical or going straight to hell.

This preview also gives you the first real tease of Josh Charles on the show. The recent “Good Wife” star is a perfume man who is looking into what Bill and Virginia are up to as a means to better understand desire, and in turn sell more products. Clearly, he is one of the more forward-thinking people on the show.

Hopefully, we’ll have some more previews on “Masters of Sex” to share long before the show actually comes on the air, but the presence of Charles may be enough to lift what is an already-great show to the next level.
