‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Scuba Steve

Steve -It’s interesting the difference between pre-game “Big Brother” and the show actually during the season, especially when it comes to a guy like Steve. We have to say that before the show began, we weren’t that invested in him as a character, despite him being “one of us” and somewhat relatable because of it. He was somewhat dismissive of Ian Terry’s game because of some of his social tactics, which is strange to us because the guy freaking won at the end of season. If there’s someone you should try to emulate, it is a winner!

Yet, in the house Steve’s game right now is very similar to week one Ian Terry, where he was struggling mightily to find a place in the house and there were many in there ostracizing him on a certain level. We’ve heard some talk about some supposed antics, including that Steve may have hid in a trash can (hilarious, if true) to gather information. There are some reasons why he’s not well-liked, but we’re not seeing all of them. We want to call him Scuba Steve for scuba-diving in a trash can, even if that sounds a little gross.

What we are seeing from him is that this is a guy who is for the most part very likable, interesting, but also completely isolated from most alliances. He is close with Audrey, though for her this may just be a side deal, and many members of the big High Rollers alliance (Audrey, Da’Vonne, James, Jeff, Jackie, Meg, and Jason) have been instructed to make.

Yes, we know that there are a lot of other crazy things going on in the house right now, but much of it just seems to be whispering and wheel-spinning that will go nowhere. Steve’s story is just an interesting one to chart. Ian was helped the first week thanks to Boogie, and Steve was helped mostly because of both a Veto win and the fact that people seemed to want Jace out more than him. He’s going to have to figure out how to ingratiate himself more, and part of that for him could actually be winning Head of Household and getting some people on his side in an alliance. There aren’t many occasions in which we advocate this early in the season, but he could be a sitting duck otherwise.
