‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Nick Grimshaw’s simple judging strategy

“The X Factor” UK is premiering a little bit later this summer, and the show has been tirelessly hard at work as of late in order to figure out just who they were going to book on the show moving forward. What did they come up with? Ultimately, it is a roster that consists of the returning Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini, but to go along with that there are two ambitious newcomers: Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw. Both are experienced when it comes to the music world, even if it is in very different ways.

For Grimshaw, the Radio One host seems to be particularly rejoicing a role that, per his own comments to Metro, he has wanted and coveted for a very long time. Take a look at some of what he had to say:

“My friends keep asking me what kind of judge I’ll be. I guess I’m just going to be myself. I’m not going to go out of my way to be mean or nice. You’ve got to be honest, otherwise there is no point … I feel really honoured to go to work. And I don’t see it as work really. I’ve always wanted to do this.”

We know that these two could end up being really great judges, but at the same time it feels somewhat silly to ultimately either christen them the next great thing or doom them to fail almost immediately. We will be so much better suited (and the same goes with the show) to wait and see how they fare.
