Jimmy Fallon injures hand; ‘Tonight Show’ taping canceled

Tonight Show -Summer is typically a time when some late-night talk show hosts decide to take a brief break, and when it comes to Jimmy Fallon, it now just looks as though he will be taking his a day earlier … albeit under some pretty unfortunate circumstances.

In a post on Twitter, “The Tonight Show” confirmed that Fallon has suffered a hand injury, and while we hear that he has been hospitalized, he will be fine and should come back from it without a problem. He has a hiatus next week, and that will give him plenty of time to recover. Fallon is the sort of guy who really needs to be at 100% if he wants to be able to host the show the way that he likes to do so. Most of his performance feeds off of his high energy, and how he tries to get the crowd going really from the start of the show until the finish. Of course, he is going to be able to bounce back from this without a problem.

This could end up being an exciting few months ahead here for all late-night TV, and mostly because we are going to see the landscape change in a pretty tremendous way. “The Daily Show” is about to bring in Trevor Noah as the replacement to Jon Stewart, while CBS has already brought in Stephen Colbert for “The Late Show.”

How is Fallon going to counter most of this? We imagine that a whole lot of it will revolve around him booking many big-name guests, and trying to introduce some new games in the process.

For now, stay tuned, as we are going to have so much more in the way of updates on all this as they become available.
