‘Lip Sync Battle’ trailer: See ‘Empire’ season 2 stars, Alison Brie, Justin Bieber, and more

Clearly, Spike TV realized early on that they have a huge hit in “Lip Sync Battle.” Did you really think that they would wait long at all to bust out a second season? New episodes of the show are coming on Thursday, July 9, and now that the success of the show has been more or less confirmed, they’ve also booked a pretty impressive array of stars to go along with that.

Among some of the people participating this time are Alison Brie, Will Arnett, Justin Bieber, Terence Howard and Alison Brie of “Empire,” Deion Sanders, Iggy Azalea and her fiance Nick Young, Broad City, and Victoria Justice. It’s a pretty impressive group of people, and that will probably in turn lead to even more internet traffic for the show.

Is this a perfect show? Not entirely. We do feel like the premise wears thin quickly, and the competition really only shines because of the participants. Still, at least executive producer Jimmy Fallon did help to cultivate something with this show that just oozes fun. Nobody feels particularly embarrassed to be a part of the show, and nobody holds anything back.

Granted, the time in which we think we’ll really start to go insane over this show is when they bring in someone like a Tom Cruise or a Meryl Streep, who we consider to be really big-name movie stars who do not tend to associate themselves with much in the way of silliness.
