‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom hired to host ‘The Xtra Factor’
Now that we know for sure that Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora are on board “The X Factor” UK this coming season as judges, there was only one other order of business for the Simon Cowell series: Making sure that the right people were also on board for the “Xtra Factor” spin-off show.
Well, we now know just who is going to be taking this position. Network ITV confirmed on Thursday that “Ninja Warrior” UK presenter Rochelle Humes and KIIS FM breakfast show host Melvin Odoom are going to be leading the charge on the ITV2 series, which airs new episodes following the conclusion of new episodes. Sometimes there are extra auditions, silly moments, or other great shenanigans on this show. It is typically more lighthearted than the flagship series, but we have wondered to a certain extent if it will ever go the way of the dodo in the event that the ratings for “The X Factor” proper start to fall.
In a statement, Humes had the following to say:
“I have watched The Xtra Factor for years so I am beyond excited about joining such a brilliant team and getting to work with my old friend Melvin makes it even better. I also can’t wait to meet the contestants and be a part of their X Factor experience.”
Meanwhile, Odoom commented with the following:
“I’ve always been a massive fan of the show and to get to present The Xtra Factor is a dream for me. We are there to support the contestants and have fun – I’m really looking forward to it!”
