Teen Choice Awards 2015: Ian Harding, Nathan Fillion, Keegan Allen battle for Choice TV Actor: Drama
We’re back today with the second edition of our Teen Choice Awards spotlight series, and yet again we’re looking at a category here in Choice TV Actor: Drama that is certainly very heavy on the big names from ABC Family. We’ve got some of our personal analysis of the race you below, but remember that this is not just a venue for us to share our thoughts. We want to hear from you in the comments below.
The nominees
Ian Harding, “Pretty Little Liars” (ABC Family)
Jake T. Austin, “The Fosters” (ABC Family)
Jussie Smollet, “Empire” (Fox)
Keegan Allen, “Pretty Little Liars” (ABC Family)
Nathan Fillion, “Castle” (ABC)
Terence Howard, “Empire” (Fox)
Who should win – Is “Empire” really a show for teens? They can certainly watch it given that it’s not too obscene, but we’re a little surprised to see it carry as many nominations as it is here (though Smollett is pretty fantastic). Our sentimental pick here is always going to be Fillion, mostly because we’ve loved his work more passionately than anyone else on the list, and he also did have a lot of material to work with this past season.
Who will win – We’re probably going to say that anything “Pretty Little Liars” here is an automatic favorite, but this could be close between Keegan and Ian, given that the two of them do have their fans. Given that Aria / Ezra has been such a headline-grabbing relationship, right now our feel is that Harding has the edge.
