‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: Adam Rodriguez cast, may be Cookie love interest
The second season of “Empire” is getting set for a premiere on Fox this fall, and we heard recently at a TV Academy event that there could be as many as two different love interests for Taraji P. Henson’s character of Cookie Lyon, now that her husband Lucious has been locked up behind bars for his various indiscretions.
So who may be playing one of them? Look no further than Adam Rodriguez. Multiple sources confirm that he is joining the cast in a recurring capacity, and TVLine offers up that is role is going to be none other than Laz Delgado, a music promoter from New York who develops a close bond with Cookie. We’re down for her getting some new romance, mostly because it should be rather effective at introducing some different and hopefully exciting dynamics into the mix for the show.
The second season of “Empire” has already officially got Chris Rock on board in some sort of guest role, and part of the luxury to having an enormously successful first season is that you really do have the luxury of getting almost anyone you want to come on board. There are going to be a laundry list of people all lining up to take part in this series at some point before we make it to the end of production.
For now, the main cast is sitting around and speculating who some of these people could be. Given that we have a longer season 2 coming up in 18 episodes, that means that there is far more time, and therefore far more possibilities for who could surface.
