‘Silicon Valley’ season 2, episode 8 review: Russ is the gift that keeps on giving

Silicon Valley -We admit that for the first few minutes of Sunday night’s new “Silicon Valley” episode, we had a very hard time focusing. This is what happens when you air an episode after “Game of Thrones.” While this show can never be as dramatic as that, it did manage to contain quite a few major developments of its own … at least when it comes to how screwed over Pied Piper seemed to be here.

This is what happens when you get into bed with someone like Russ, right? His mere presence caused chaos tonight, as did the admission that Richard wanted him gone for good. What resulted in all of this was a chaotic sequence of events where the company caused thousands of hours of content to completely go away from their new client in the adult industry. Everything has started to fall apart for the company, and it appeared that their one hope to make money is now completely ruined … at least for the time being.

Basically, a rogue tequila bottle in the wrong place has the company screwed, and yet, they are not the only ones. There was some hilarious stuff happening in the Hooli world tonight as we learned just far behind Nucleus is in its development. Meanwhile, EndFrame is suddenly crumbling. Are there any real quality compression companies left? Everyone seems to be falling to pieces at the same time.

Tonight’s episode was accentuated with tough moments, but also classic Erlich lines, hacking accusations, and also Russ giving himself a gift of a fancy new car to celebrate being a billionaire again. Yep, everything seems right in the world of the show. Grade: B+.
