‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6 spoilers: Janel Parrish teases ‘darkest’ season yet
We have to admit here that a few months ago, we did not think that we were even going to be saying Janel Parrish’s name anywhere near the upcoming sixth season of “Pretty Little Liars,” which premieres on ABC Family come Tuesday, June 2. This is an actress whose character of Mona appeared dead! How in the world was the show going to figure out a way to bring her back? Well, let’s just say that the writers here are extremely crafty.
So while Parrish is being coy as every one of her co-stars when it comes to describing some of what lies ahead, she is already making it clear that this is not going to be an easy season for any of the leading ladies in the wake of them being trapped by the oh-so-mysterious Charles. Speaking to “Entertainment Tonight,” this is specifically what she had to say:
“I think they need to be prepared that it’s going to be a darker season than we’ve had in a really — I think it might be our darkest season ever, actually! Basically what we’re dealing with is a very, very angry Charles and the season starts right where we left off: We are still trapped in that horrible, horrible dollhouse. We will get out at some point, but when we do we will have some serious, serious emotional scars. All of us will have different things that we’re dealing with. You’ll find out what they are as the season goes on, but yeah it’s going to be a darker season, and some darker girls are emerging from this dollhouse.”
For Mona, much of what she could have to deal with is strictly the aftermath from being presumed dead. This is something, after all, that we’ve already seen Alison deal with, but most likely in a very different way.
