‘America’s Got Talent’ preview: Meet Stevie Starr (possibly again)

Well, there was never anything about “America’s Got Talent” that requires contestants to be completely new to the reality TV landscape. The show returns to NBC on Tuesday night, and one of the acts you are going to see is someone who has already been on various iterations of the franchise across Europe: Stevie Starr. What’s his talent? Basically, it involves throwing stuff back up.

Is it impressive what the guy does? Definitely, and you can get a slight sense of it below. It’s also a little gross. There are some far more complicated things that he can do, but we wont share those for the time being mostly because we don’t want to give everything away just yet.

Ultimately, the reason why we are probably seeing this guy yet again on a season of the franchise is simple: How many people do something like this? The answer is “not many.” You want variety on these shows rather than just the same thing time and time again, and there is value to bringing someone like him around the world to do this crazy stunt. The majority of viewers will have never seen it before. He’ll probably at least get a chance to do something again on the show in a later round.
