‘The View’: Are Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins about to join permanently?

“The View” has not exactly had a stable past several months of TV. After undergoing a major reboot this summer after the retirement of Barbara Walters, they then had yet another reboot-of-sorts after Rosie O’Donnell decided that she was going to leave the show to deal with personal matters.

So are we at least starting to get to the point now where the show is getting a more permanent roster of hosts? We would say that it is at least possible, based on some of the comments that are now coming up via the show itself. On a recent episode, Whoopi Goldberg (widely considered to be the star of the show at this point) made it clear that they would love to have Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins ultimately become the permanent panelists alongside her, Rosie Perez, and Nicole Wallace.

For Raven-Symone, this comes at an interesting time in her career. While first finding fame on “The Cosby Show” and then later with “That’s So Raven,” she had become relatively under the radar prior to her getting a role on “Empire” earlier this year. This is a nice landing spot for her, given that it would give her a permanent platform, and the show is a part of the same parent company as “That’s So Raven” in Disney. She also has a unique perspective and point of view on not just acting, but the industry as a whole.

Collins, meanwhile, brings some of the comedy that you would want from a show that has some more serious commentators on it at this point. This is a show that, after all, does benefit heavily from finding and maintaining that perfect balance.
