‘The Bachelorette’ spotlight: Meet Kupah James, one ‘motivated’ guy

There are always a variety of personalities on “The Bachelorette,” and it feels like there are always a few that are going to stand out. Maybe they have a sad story, come from a tiny town, or just have an interesting job. When it comes to Kupah James, he may just have more charisma than anyone in the known world. He’s enthusiastic, he loves the word “motivated” (he says it all the time on social media), and he is someone who probably fights pretty hard for everything in life.

Of course, what we wonder going into this season is whether or not he can dial any of this back a little bit? We’ll get into this more below, but our quick take is that he may be trying so hard to sell himself this season, he may have a hard time settling in and just enjoying the experience as it happens, provided that he goes far enough.

Age – 32

Location – Boston, Massachusetts

Occupation – Entrepreneur. Did he think that he was auditioning for “Shark Tank,” and took a wrong turn somewhere along the way?

First impression – He’s very enthusiastic, passionate, and according to his bio, marriage to him means “FOOOOOOOORRRRRRRREEEEEEEVEEEEEEEER.” We like to think that this is a reference to “The Sandlot” personally. At the same time, we do worry slightly that one of his major goals is trying to promote himself and his brand just as much as he is looking to be on the show for romance. He’s going to have to figure out how to balance his passion for life and for love on this show.

Worst impression – We probably just said it. He seems great on paper; our only concern is that he’s going to go 120 mph in a competition that needs him to cruise at around 60.

Prediction – We could see Kupah going in hard and leaving the first night; or, we could see him lasting around three or four weeks. We don’t think that he’s going to really mesh with either Kaitlyn Bristowe, Britt Nilsson, or the other guys on a show that requires you to be vulnerable … but we also don’t think he’s going to have any trouble out there dating.
