‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20: Val Chmerkovskiy apologizes to Derek Hough, Nastia Liukin over ‘perfect’ comment
So was there a need for Val to apologize for that after the fact, especially given that Nastia was eliminated Tuesday? Not necessarily, but he felt the need to anyway. You can see below specifically what he has to say, and we definitely believe him when it comes to it possible being taken out of context. That does happen more often than we can really count with these sort of shows.
Now, you do have to wonder whether or not there was anything to the comment that Val ultimately made about the two, mostly in that for some reason, the viewers did not support the pair (plus Sasha Farber) with their votes on the same level that they got support via the scores from the judges. Our simple guess here is that while we don’t think that the two are boring by any means, they are not exactly the edgiest dance team in the world. You compare that to some of the other remaining teams, which do have some sort of x-factor going on.
Also, Nastia’s elimination may just be a part of the phenomenon where everyone just assumes that they are going to be safe, and then nobody really remembers to vote for them or simply throws their votes to someone they feel is more in need.
What do you think about this whole scandal-that-isn’t-a-scandal ultimately, anyway? Share right now with a comment, and head over here to get some other TV news sent to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)
