ABC 2015-16 schedule: Watch trailers for ‘The Muppets,’ ‘Oil,’ ‘Quantico,’ and more
“Quantico” – It’s like “Harry Potter” meets super spies! Maybe that is is going to be the new “Covert Affairs,” as well … or it’s at least the spy version of “How to Get Away with Murder.” It’s an ensemble series with a somewhat-boring name, but there is still a chance for it to rise to the surface.

“The Muppets” – Amazing. It’s funny, witty, and it has Fozzie Bear dating a human while Kermit complains about the 405. Maybe this is everything that you wanted in a Muppet series but did not even know you did.

Dr. Ken – It’s a family comedy starring Ken Jeong as a doctor, which is funny mostly because he used to actually be a doctor. It’s kind of weird that “Community” is not referenced at all as one of his achievements, and the trailer feels mostly like you would expect to see from a multi-cam sitcom pilot. It’s going take time for the show to find its voice.

“Oil” – Don Johnson and Chace Crawford are coming back to TV for a show that feels almost like the love child of “There Will Be Blood” and “Dallas.” It’s a primetime soap through and through anchored by its cast of characters. This is a big gamble for ABC, mostly because most of their soaps have been reliant more on a high-concept premise like “Revenge” or “Secrets & Lies.”

“Of Kings and Prophets” – It’s a Biblical story about rulers, armies, and other sort of traditional historical fare. This is ABC’s attempt to cash in on the success of either “Game of Thrones” or “The Bible.” The trailer is definitely epic, but we’re having a hard time grabbing a hold of the show’s soul.
