‘The Originals’ season 3 spoilers: Boss on Claire Holt – Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ availability

Originals -Tonight marks the end of “The Originals” season 2, but moving into the future there are still many questions … and a lot of them are going to revolve around the state of Rebekah. She is a character who producers and fans love to a great degree. However, at the same time we are not getting close to a chance that either actor who plays the character will be around full-time.

Here is the current situation. Claire Holt is a part of the NBC show “Aquarius,” but her schedule may still be such where she could come back in some capacity. However, Maisie Richardson-Sellers was just case in a new network series, and figuring out how to include her could be a little more taxing. These are matters touched on somewhat by executive producer Julie Plec in a TVLine interview:

“Well, we still have access to Claire, and I assume we still have access to Maisie. We spent two years juggling Daniel Gillies’ schedule when he was on [Saving Hope], so having to work around a little availability issue of two Rebekahs is … well, we’ve done harder things. I wouldn’t say it’s the last we’ll see of either of them.”

Will there ever be a third Rebekah? Nothing is out of the realm of possibility for the show, so we can envision some scenarios where she could come back in a different form. The reason that the Holt incarnation is back right now has everything to do with Klaus, and what he wants to do in order to ensure that he can either use her or dagger her.
