‘Britain’s Got Talent’ preview: Vladimir Georgievsky is seriously funny
While we are focusing on a contestant here in “Britain’s Got Talent” preview series in Vladimir Georgievsky whose name may not be the easiest to spell, let’s still be honest here: This is still a guy who you are really going to want to check out this season. He brings a heck of a lot of good stuff to the show, and one of the biggest things is strictly humor … but in an unexpected way.
His humor, as showcased in the trampoline act, is similar in a way to the Three Stooges. He reminds us in a way of Dustin’s Dojo from “America’s Got Talent” this past season, an act born on the basis of intentional incompetence. The twist here is that it is being done with acrobatics and featuring a guy who looks like he would be your English professor.
Based on the way in which he performs this act, we have a feeling that this is something that he has honed for a long time, and therefore probably has a number of other ways that he can pretend to hurt himself in the event he is brought back for another round of the competition. One of our concerns here typically is that the gimmick is going to be washed away after you’ve already seen it once, but we’re a little more lenient on that when it comes to comedy acts. People ultimately want to laugh, and with this sort of physical comedy, it is going to be difficult to not have them howling.
