While many fans of ABC’s “Forever” may be feeling rather sad over the show’s cancellation, they should know that all of their love and appreciation for the show is certainly being felt by someone very close to it: Star Ioan Gruffudd.
Following the news on Thursday that the network had canceled the show after just a season, the actor (who has been through this process before, unfortunately, with “Ringer”) posted a rather lengthy and heartfelt message to the fans on Instagram. It is clear through reading this how much he enjoyed working on the show as his immortal crime-solver, and also just how much he appreciates the love that fans have his character of Henry.
One other thing that we really enjoy about his letter is the frank sense of honesty that he brings to it. He knows that the show was not a lock to be renewed by any means, but he was still given some hope by the messages that he and the team were getting from ABC. That was enough to make them think that they at least rather liked the show.
Unfortunately, we’re not sure if there is going to be another suitor out there for a show that is only one year into its life. It’s a shame, given that you can really tell passion by how fans react to a cancellation, and the fans here are definitely passionate. This is the biggest outcry we have seen for any canceled show so far this season, and hopefully Gruffudd and the rest of the cast are going to be able to find some other work at some point in the future.
One thing that we do know? This is an actor who knows how to communicate with his fans, and that will make him so much more beloved in the long run than those who choose to be detached.

It is a shame that a quality show like this is no more.
