Ratings: ‘The Blacklist’ season 2, ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ ‘The Vampire Diaries’ ravaged by NFL Draft
This year, the show seemingly hurt the most was “The Blacklist.” Remember when NBC was getting huge ratings for this show on Monday nights? The 1.2 in the 18-49 demographic, which is a new series low, proves that sometimes messing with a good thing is in fact a bad thing. Nothing that it has been replacement with on Monday has performed well, and it has sunk like a stone in water. Granted, we are not so willing to place the blame entirely on the move, though; the season 2 arc has a whole has been a step down from season 1.
“The Blacklist” was not the only show with a series low last night. “The Vampire Diaries” (0.5) also fell, which is somewhat surprising given that we thought that there would be an increase in interest to see how the story ends with Nina Dobrev. Maybe they just mean to check out the finale and really nothing else.
Another notable decline was “The Big Bang Theory” (3.2), which has surprisingly fallen hard this spring. Remember here that this show scored a 5.5 rating for its premiere in the fall! It is down a little less from the penultimate episode last season (3.8), but we should note that was the only episode last season below a 4.5. That has happened multiple times this season.
Also worth noting? “Bones” (0.9) hit another series low, and “Grey’s Anatomy” (2.6) fell versus last week’s tragic installment, but still did better than the season average.
